What does Grenache taste like?

Red fruit above all: raspberry, strawberry and red cherry, lifted by rosewater, dried herbs and warm spice. Tannins are fine and the texture is silky, which is why Grenache is often called Australia's answer to Pinot Noir.

What does GSM stand for?

Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro. Mataro is the Australian name for Mourvèdre. The three are blended for perfume, depth and structure respectively.

Should Grenache be served chilled?

Lightly, yes. Twenty minutes in the fridge brings it to about 14 to 16°C, which sharpens the aromatics and keeps lighter styles refreshing.

How long does Grenache cellar?

Most bottles are at their best within five years. Old-vine Barossa and McLaren Vale Grenache from a good producer will hold and improve for ten or more.
