Buy natural wine online in Australia with Whisky Wine Sake. Explore minimal-intervention natural, organic, biodynamic and vegan wines, plus cloudy, characterful pét-nat made with wild yeasts and little to no additives — living, expressive wines from forward-thinking growers in Australia and beyond.

What actually is natural wine?

There's no legal definition, but the philosophy is simple: nothing added, nothing taken away. Organically or biodynamically farmed grapes, fermented with the wild yeasts that came in on their skins, unfined, often unfiltered, with minimal or zero added sulphur. The result can be cloudy, funky, juicy or startlingly pure — but it's always alive. Expect orange (skin-contact) whites with texture and grip, chillable light reds, and flavours conventional winemaking polishes away.

Meet pét-nat

Pétillant naturel — 'naturally sparkling' — is the oldest way of putting bubbles in wine: bottled before fermentation finishes, so the last of the yeast's work happens under crown seal. It's Champagne's scruffy, joyful ancestor — gently fizzy, often hazy, endlessly drinkable and made for warm afternoons. If you like the sound of bubbles with more polish, our Champagne & sparkling range has you covered; otherwise dive into the funk and browse the full wine collection for context.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is natural wine the same as organic wine?

Not quite. Organic certifies the farming; natural describes the winemaking. Most natural wine is organically grown, but a wine can be certified organic and still be made conventionally in the winery.

Does natural wine contain sulphites?

Usually far less than conventional wine — many producers add a tiny dose at bottling for stability, some add none. Fermentation itself creates trace sulphites, so no wine is truly sulphite-free.

Why is my natural wine cloudy?

It's unfiltered — that haze is yeast and grape solids, and it's meant to be there. Gently invert pét-nat bottles to rouse the sediment, or pour carefully to leave it behind. Either way it's harmless.

Should natural wine be chilled?

More often than not, yes. Pét-nats and skin-contact whites want a proper chill, and most light natural reds are at their best around 12–14°C — straight off a short stint in the fridge.

Do you deliver natural wine across Australia?
