Maretti Nebbiolo

Maretti Nebbiolo. Nebbiolo, pale in the glass and anything but pale on the palate.

Rose petal, tar and sour cherry, with high acid and serious tannin. Pale colour and ferocious tannin is an odd combination, and it is the whole character of the grape.

It needs time, or at least air. Tannin this firm takes years to unwind. Give it air and give it food. Rich meat, mushrooms and truffle if you are lucky.
