Brokenwood Semillon

Brokenwood Semillon. Semillon. Low in alcohol, high in acid, and it ages like almost nothing else.

Citrus and a chalky edge early on. Give it years and it goes toasty and honeyed. Hunter Semillon is picked early and bottled without oak, which is why it starts so lean and lasts so long.

It drinks well now, but it is one of the few whites genuinely worth cellaring. Good with anything from the sea. It also rewards a long sit in the cellar.
