Dexter Pinot Noir
DESCRIPTION:
One fine drop in the Pinot world is the one from Dexter. This stunner is from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria & is vivid with complexity. Definitely deserving of its reputation!
Winemaker Tod Dexter has had a long romance with Pinot Noir & that is clearly translated into his wines.
The Dexter vineyard is on a north facing slope which allows for maximum & even sun interception as well as drainage. The vines enjoy the evening sea breeze from Port Philip Bay, Westernport Bay & Bass Straight which helps moderate the temperatures
TASTING NOTE:
A light vibrant ruby to the eye. Intensely aromatic on the nose; a bouquet of perfume, ripe strawberries & warm cotton candy
Multiple flavour tiers, the soft entry greets you with black cherry & plum. Subtle spice and hints of oak soon appear with a light savouriness throughout. Fine, supple tannins leading to a long finish with a final lift. Beautifully well balance.
