Farrside By Farr Pinot Noir 2024

Farrside is the wine I point people to when they tell me Australia can't do Pinot. By Farr planted these vines back in 2001, and that age does a lot of the work.

Warmer year than the 2023, so there's more flesh on this one. Richer, rounder, but it hasn't lost the savoury spice that makes a Farr wine a Farr wine.

Dark cherry and black plum up front, a bit of clove, and that mineral edge off the limestone and volcanic soil. Creamy through the middle, then the tannins turn up and remind you who's in charge.

Open it now and it's all power and fruit. Leave it five years and you'll have a different wine. Both are good answers.
