Made with 100% locally grown Koshi Tanrei, a sake rice developed in Niigata.

Koshi Tanrei is Niigata's own cross of Yamada-Nishiki and Gohyakumangoku, released in 2004 and grown only in the prefecture, so it's a deliberately local statement rather than a Yamada-Nishiki bottling.

The style is tanrei karakuchi expect light, dry Niigata house style. The brewery's own note: "a restrained rather than showy fruity ginjo aroma, soft and rounded on the palate."

They recommend it chilled or at room temperature, and specifically not warmed or on ice.
