Santa Rita Secret Reserve Pinot Noir Leyda Valley 2022

Pinot Noir from the Leyda Valley, a narrow strip of coastal Chile close enough to the Pacific that the sea air does most of the work. It is one of the cooler places in the country to grow, which is exactly why Pinot does well there.

Expect dark cherry and red berry fruit with a savoury, earthy edge underneath and a touch of spice. The palate is round and juicy rather than heavy, with soft tannins and enough freshness to keep it lively.

A portion of the blend sees time in oak, which fills out the middle without burying the fruit.

Drink it now, lightly chilled on a warm day if you like. It works with duck, pork, mushroom dishes and charcuterie.
