Sullivans Cove Special Cask TD0263 French Oak Apera Cask Single Malt Whisky

Regular price $1,599.00

DESCRIPTION:

An exceptionally rare release from Australia's most acclaimed whisky distillery, Sullivans Cove Special Cask #5 TD0263 represents the first-ever Apera cask matured whisky produced by Sullivans Cove. Distilled in April 2008 and matured for 10 years in a single French Oak Apera cask, this extraordinary Tasmanian single malt was bottled at 44.8% ABV, with only 536 individually numbered bottles released worldwide.

The nose reveals an elegant bouquet of geraniums, dark roses, dates, cherry cola, chocolate and spiced plum. Rich and velvety on the palate, layers of treacle, golden raisins, dried orange peel and fortified wine notes unfold alongside refined tannins and remarkable texture. The finish is long and complex, lingering with chocolate, marmalade, Persian fairy floss and exotic Middle Eastern spices.

As part of Sullivans Cove's coveted Special Cask series, TD0263 was selected for its unique character and exceptional quality. The influence of the French oak Apera cask delivers remarkable depth, balancing rich fruit, confectionery sweetness and warming spice while allowing the distillery's distinctive spirit to shine through. A landmark release in Australian whisky history and a highly sought-after collector's bottle.
