DESCRIPTION:

Philip Shaw’s “The Conductor” Merlot is a hallmark of their Character Series, crafted from 100% Merlot at the high-altitude Koomooloo Vineyard in Orange, NSW. This cool-climate wine offers rich red berry fruit — think plum, cherry, and currant — layered with forest floor, dried herbs, and a delicate mushroom note.

The palate is juicy and mouth-filling, with fine, savoury tannins and a seamless texture. Aged in older oak barrels, it has subtle vanilla warmth without overshadowing the fruit. At ~13–13.4% ABV and sealed with a screw cap, it’s ready to enjoy now over 3–5 years. Pairs beautifully with roast meats, hearty vegetarian dishes, or mature cheese.
