Pegasus Bay Pinot Noir

DESCRIPTION:

The wine has a deep carmine colour with hints of brown towards the edges. The bouquet and flavours evoke an impression of black cherries, purple plums, blackberries and raspberries. Beneath these is a savoury underlay of black olives, liquorice, grilled mushrooms and prosciutto. The extended maturation time in the bottle has accentuated these tertiary notes, as well as softened the wine’s overall structure. There remains a dense core of ripe fruit, however, this is coated with fine-grained, velvety tannins, delivering a wine that is robust, yet refined.
